Reiki Energy Healing In-Person & Virtual

Restore balance & cultivate calm.

What to Expect

Reiki is an energy healing technique used to facilitate the healing of mind, body, and soul through relaxation and release. In a session, we allow universal energy to move intentionally and intelligently within your energy field to help provide clarity, clear blockages, and release burdens that may be giving rise to mental, emotional, and physical problems.

We’ll begin with a brief discussion about your intentions, any areas of focus, and how you're feeling emotionally and physically. From there, I will guide you into a receptive state with a guided meditation. During the session, you might feel warmth, tingling, deep relaxation, or even emotional releases, but each experience is unique. Many people also receive insights, feel a sense of clarity and peace, as well as relief from physical pains afterward.

About

Reiki

Reiki is an ancient alternative therapy known as energy healing. Originating from the Usui Reiki tradition developed by Mikao Usui in early 20th-century Japan, Reiki combines the principles of universal energy (Rei) and life force energy (Ki). During a session, we invite this universal life force energy to clear blockages and invigorate the auric field, promoting the body's natural healing abilities. This form of therapy targets the energy system that underlies and serves as the blueprint for the physical body. When disturbances occur in your energy flow, you may feel out of alignment and become more susceptible to disease and injury.

  • How will I feel after a Reiki session?
After a Reiki session, many people feel like they’ve just hit a reset button – calm, refreshed, and recharged. Some folks even experience relief from physical pain, which is always a bonus! As for how long these effects last, it can vary from person to person. Some clients feel amazing for days, even weeks, while others might notice their energy fluctuating a bit as their body adjusts. It’s kind of like your energy system going through a good spring cleaning – you might feel lighter, but you might also notice some old emotions or memories popping up to be released. All part of the process!
  • How long do the effects of Reiki last?
It varies from person to person. Some folks feel super energized and clear for a long time after a session, while others may notice their mood or emotions shifting in the days or weeks that follow. Reiki often works on a deep, subtle level, so even if you don’t feel a dramatic change right away, trust that the energy is still working behind the scenes. It's like planting seeds of transformation that grow over time.
  • Why do I sometimes feel emotional or low after Reiki?
Reiki is like a spiritual spring cleaning, and sometimes that means dusting off old emotions, limiting beliefs, or unresolved past experiences. While you might feel light and uplifted at first, your mind and body may later process emotions that you’ve been holding onto for a while. This is a totally normal part of the healing journey! Don’t be alarmed – think of it as your body’s way of making space for new energy and healing.
  • Is it normal to feel worse before feeling better?
Yep, it can happen! Think of it like stirring up the dust in a room that’s been closed off for a while – things might get a little chaotic before it settles, but once everything has cleared, you’ll feel so much lighter and clearer. After a Reiki session, you might experience some sadness, anxiety, or other intense emotions as your body processes and releases deep-seated energy. It’s all part of the healing process. Instead of resisting, try to embrace these feelings as your body’s way of letting go and moving toward a healthier, happier version of yourself.
  • How does Reiki help with processing past trauma?
When we experience trauma, we often push the emotions associated with it deep down inside, either because we feel we need to "keep it together" or because it's just too painful to face. Reiki can help bring those buried emotions to the surface, giving you the chance to process and release them. Think of it as a healing invitation for your body and mind to finally deal with what’s been left unsaid or undone. Over time, this can lead to emotional freedom and peace, which is the ultimate goal.
  • How often should I receive Reiki?
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer here! But in general, I recommend waiting at least two weeks between sessions. This allows your body to fully integrate the changes before diving into another session. Some people enjoy monthly Reiki "tune-ups," while others may prefer to book a session as needed. The key is to listen to your body and trust your intuition – it will guide you toward what feels best for you.
  • Can I combine Reiki with other energy healing modalities?
Absolutely! Reiki can work in harmony with other energy healing practices like acupuncture, shamanic healing, or theta healing. However, I recommend giving yourself some time in between these practices to avoid overwhelming your system. Energy work is powerful stuff, and sometimes less is more. If you’ve just had a Reiki session, it’s best to allow your body to fully process the healing before adding any other energy work.
  • What self-care should I practice after a Reiki session?
After your Reiki session, it’s important to nurture yourself and allow the healing process to continue. Here are a few things I recommend: Drink lots of water – It helps the energy flow better and keeps the healing vibes going. Take it easy – Give your body and mind some time to process the shifts. Avoid diving into a stressful task or cramming your schedule right after your session. Move gently – Light stretching or a gentle walk can help integrate the energy shifts and keep you grounded. Practice mindfulness or meditation – This helps you connect with any insights that may arise, and it can guide you through any emotions or thoughts that come up post-session. By taking care of yourself after Reiki, you’ll ensure that the positive effects of the session continue to unfold and deepen.

Usui Reiki Symbols

Reiki symbols are sacred emblems used to enhance the flow of healing energy during a session. Rooted in the Usui Reiki tradition, each symbol carries a unique vibration and meaning, serving as a focus for intention and a channel for specific energies.
